Tunisia Appoints Hervé Renard as Head Coach for 2026 World Cup
The Tunisian Football Federation confirmed on June 16 that Hervé Renard will take over as head coach for the rest of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. His appointment comes after the dismissal of Sabri Lamouchi following Tunisia’s opening defeat to Sweden.
Renard, who has previously coached Saudi Arabia and Morocco, will begin work that evening under the same financial terms already agreed. The federation said discussions about a longer‑term contract will wait until after the World Cup. A press briefing with Renard is scheduled for 30 minutes before training at the team’s base, and Tunisia will face Japan this Saturday before concluding the group stage against the Netherlands.
