TikTok Star Peller Granted ₦500,000 Bail After Court Appearance
TikTok creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, and his associate Bello Oladipo have been granted ₦500,000 bail by a Lagos Magistrate Court following their arraignment on allegations of obstructing police officers during an operation.
The court ordered the duo to provide two sureties, with one of the sureties required to be a blood relative. Additionally, they must submit tax clearance certificates covering the past two years before the bail conditions can be satisfied.
The matter was adjourned until August 11 for a further hearing.
According to reports, the incident occurred on July 2 along Coastal Road, Lekki, Lagos, when police officers stopped Peller over a vehicle that allegedly lacked number plates.
Peller informed the officers that the vehicle was newly purchased, but the officers insisted that he accompany them to the station.
The situation became tense when Peller began recording the encounter on his phone. He later accused the officers of acting aggressively, while the police command denied the allegations and filed charges against him and his associate.
Peller and Oladipo now face charges of resisting police officers, obstructing them from carrying out their duties, and engaging in conduct that could lead to a breach of public peace.
