Speaking to Saturday PUNCH, South Africa’s Consul‑General to Nigeria, Prof. Bobby Moroe, stated that officials could not trace any visa submission from Ayra Starr or her team. He urged those making the allegations to provide the names and application reference numbers so the mission can verify the claims.
Tyla Removes Lagos from Tour Schedule
The denial comes as Grammy‑winning South African singer Tyla quietly removed Lagos from the itinerary of her forthcoming world tour. A check of her official tour website showed the December 22 Lagos concert no longer listed, while performances in Europe, North America and South Africa remain unchanged.

The move follows intense criticism from Nigerians who accuse Tyla of staying silent amid reports of anti‑migrant violence in South Africa, including the killing of Nigerian national Chika Ibe in Cape Town.
