Senator Wadada Defends Tinubu Administration, Calls Critics Ignorant or Enemies
The lawmaker representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Aliyu Wadada, has praised the Bola Tinubu administration, arguing that only an “open enemy” would dismiss the progress recorded since the president took office.
Wadada pointed to several economic indicators that have shown noticeable improvement, noting that while more work remains, it would be unrealistic to overlook the visible advancements across key sectors.
“But for anybody to sit down and wish away this administration, then that person is either ignorant, not realistic, or an open enemy, because opposition is different from being an enemy,” he said.
The senator cited gains in Nigeria’s balance of payments, balance of trade, foreign reserves, exchange rate stability, and the capital market as evidence that the administration’s economic reforms are yielding positive results.
According to Wadada, foreign reserves have risen from below $30 billion when Tinubu assumed office to approximately $56–57 billion. He also highlighted that the unification of foreign exchange windows has contributed to greater stability of the naira.
He further noted ongoing infrastructure projects nationwide and growth in the Nigerian capital market as additional signs of economic progress under the current government.
While acknowledging that challenges persist, Wadada stressed that improvements are evident in every sector, but more effort is still required.
The lawmaker also commended the Tinubu administration for enacting the Electricity Act, which he said creates opportunities for states to generate electricity by leveraging their comparative advantages.
Wadada added that Nasarawa State has become a major player in the country’s solid minerals sector, hosting Nigeria’s first and second lithium processing plants.
