Senator Wadada Defends Tinubu Administration
The lawmaker representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Senator Aliyu Wadada, has defended President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating that only an “open enemy” would dismiss the government’s achievements.
Speaking on recent economic indicators, Wadada noted significant improvements since Tinubu took office, acknowledging that more work remains but stressing that visible progress across key sectors cannot be ignored.
“Anyone who sits down and wishes this administration away is either ignorant, unrealistic, or an open enemy,” he said, adding that legitimate opposition differs from outright hostility.
He cited gains in Nigeria’s balance of payments, balance of trade, foreign reserves, exchange‑rate stability and the capital market as proof that the administration’s reforms are yielding positive results.
According to the senator, foreign reserves have risen from below $30 billion at the start of Tinubu’s tenure to about $56–57 billion, while the unification of foreign‑exchange windows has contributed to greater naira stability.
Wadada also highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects nationwide and growth in the Nigerian capital market as further signs of economic advancement.
He acknowledged that challenges persist, saying, “There are glaring improvements and growth in every sector, but that does not mean all is well. Much more needs to be done.”
The lawmaker praised the Tinubu government for signing the Electricity Act, which enables states to generate electricity by leveraging their comparative advantages.
He pointed out that Nasarawa State has become a major player in the solid minerals sector, hosting the country’s first and second lithium processing plants.
