Salihu Lukman Sets Condition for Return to ADC
Former African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Salihu Lukman said he is ready to rejoin the party, but only if its leaders unite to present a credible candidate capable of earning Nigerians’ trust.
Lukman explained that he suspended his ADC membership out of frustration, stressing that Nigeria’s challenges transcend party loyalties.
He stated, “I suspended my ADC membership out of frustration. I am not speaking as an ADC member because Nigeria is facing a serious challenge. Partisan politics will not get us out of the situation we are in. I am prepared to retain my ADC membership if it helps bring all the party’s leaders together, because Nigeria is bigger than the ADC.”
The former ADC official also urged the opposition to improve its performance if it hopes to unseat the ruling party, warning that current opposition strategies risk repeating the mistakes of the 2023 elections.
Lukman called for opposition leaders to set aside personal ambitions and prioritize the nation’s destiny, insisting that a united front is essential for meaningful change.
