Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, widely known as Rudeboy from the defunct P‑Square group, has expressed his admiration for the current Afrobeats leaders Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy. Speaking on Yanga FM, he emphasized that each generation gets its moment at the top of the music scene.

Rudeboy stated that he harbors no ill will toward the newer stars and believes fans should accept that no artist can remain at the peak forever. According to him, it is now the turn of Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy to steer the industry, just as P‑Square once enjoyed its own era of dominance.

He added that after this generation fades, another set of artistes will inevitably rise, describing this progression as the natural cycle of the music business. Rudeboy stressed that while staying at the summit eternally is impossible, artistes can still cement a lasting legacy through their achievements and contributions.

“I have a good relationship with Wizkid, Davido and Burna. It’s their turn to be top, our turn don pass. Nobody is going to be there forever. People should respect that. After that, there’s still going to be another people. You can’t be there forever, but you can still put your legacy,” he said.

He further questioned why fans often argue over Afrobeats supremacy, urging newcomers to recognize the foundations laid by earlier acts like his own.
