Rotimi Amaechi Agrees to Be Atiku’s Running Mate
Former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has reportedly agreed to serve as the running mate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
The confirmation came from Leader Sampson, the immediate past chairman of ADC in Rivers State, who told Daily Post on Saturday that Amaechi has accepted the vice‑presidential slot.
Amaechi, who had contested the ADC presidential primary but lost to Atiku, had earlier stated that he did not purchase the party’s presidential form with the intention of later becoming vice president.
He also loudly rejected the primary result, which some party members claimed was rigged in favour of Atiku.
When asked directly whether Amaechi had accepted the vice‑presidential role, Leader Sampson simply replied, “yes.”
