Real Madrid Agree €140m Deal to Sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig

Real Madrid have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign winger Yan Diomande for a fee that could rise to €140 million, bringing an end to prolonged negotiations between the two clubs.

According to reports, the Spanish side will pay an initial €125 million, with a further €15 million tied to performance‑related add‑ons.

Leipzig’s board has approved the deal, clearing the way for the 19‑year‑old Ivory Coast international to travel to Madrid for his medical before finalising the transfer.

Diomande was with Leipzig’s pre‑season camp in Austria when the final details were settled and is expected to receive permission to leave the camp to complete his move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

The winger returned to Leipzig after representing Ivory Coast at the World Cup, having missed the team’s initial departure for the Austrian camp due to illness, as the club stated.

The agreement also contains a sell‑on clause that will benefit Leganes, the Spanish club that sold Diomande to Leipzig last year, entitling them to a percentage of the transfer fee.

Earlier reports indicated that Madrid grew confident after Paris Saint‑Germain withdrew from the race, while Liverpool had also shown interest in the teenager earlier in the window.

Diomande remains under contract with Leipzig until 2030, and the Bundesliga side had hoped to retain him on improved terms while aiming for a fee closer to €130 million.

In his debut season in Germany, he scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 appearances, and featured in all four of Ivory Coast’s World Cup matches before their quarter‑final exit to Norway.
