Phyna Files ₦500 Million Lawsuit Against Carter Efe Over Sex Allegation
BBNaija Level‑Up winner Phyna has taken legal action against Nigerian streamer Carter Efe, filing a ₦500 million lawsuit over allegations of a sexual relationship between the two.
The dispute began after Carter Efe claimed in a social media video that he had been intimate with Phyna. In the clip, Phyna is heard asking, “Me and you f*ck?” to which Carter replied, “Yes. I will bring the whole evidence come outside.” Phyna responded, “Thank you very much. You and Davrel will hear from my lawyer.”
Later, during an Instagram Live session on Thursday night, Phyna addressed her fans, apologising for the public fallout and confirming that she had instituted legal proceedings against both Carter Efe and another individual named Davrel.
She explained that while she had tolerated criticism in the past, attacks on her personal and sexual life had crossed a line. Phyna said she would no longer react emotionally but would instead rely on the law to defend her reputation.
“Hi people, I’m making this live to address something very important,” she said. “I know many say I’ve lost my self‑respect. I’ve realised that now. The recent events have forced me to change how I handle public attacks. I can tolerate many kinds of drag, but not those that involve sexual allegations.”
Phyna added that she would no longer be the “playful self” who laughs off insults or rants online when offended. Instead, she is learning to use legal means to settle disputes, noting that her own reactions often made her appear at fault.
She concluded the live stream by telling Carter Efe and Davrel to check their emails and WhatsApp, stating, “You’ve been served.” Shortly afterward, Carter Efe shared a video confirming that he had indeed been served with the ₦500 million suit.
