The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the constitution of new Caretaker Committees. These committees will oversee the party’s operations in Enugu, Delta, and Rivers States. The decision was made by the National Working Committee (NWC). They acted on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC).
Mr. Theophilus Dakas Shan, the party’s National Organizing Secretary, confirmed this development in a recent statement.

Mandate and Guidelines for the Committees
The newly formed committees have clear responsibilities. They are tasked with managing party affairs in their assigned states. This mandate aligns with Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP Constitution.
Their tenure is temporary. Each committee will serve for a maximum period of 90 days. Alternatively, their service ends once new executive members are elected.
During their assignment, committee members must follow strict guidelines. They are to be guided by the PDP Constitution (2025, as amended). They must also adhere to the Electoral Act, 2022. Furthermore, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended, serves as a guiding document.
