Background on the Candidacy Announcement
Earlier, the APC unveiled Sharafadeen Alli as its governorship candidate and Adesoji Adedeji as his running mate for the 2027 election in Oyo State. The names were uploaded to the INEC portal by the party’s national headquarters in Abuja less than 24 hours before the announcement.
Reaction from the Adelabu Camp
The move, however, was rejected by the camp of former minister and governorship aspirant Adebayo Adelabu.
The reconciliation committee, upon its inauguration later this week, will be tasked with meeting all relevant stakeholders, including aspirants who are dissatisfied with the outcome of the recent primaries that produced the APC’s candidates for the next general elections.
Sadare
It is hoped that this effort will bring about the desired peace and unity for the party to record a resounding victory at the polls next year.
