Osun APC Calls for Immediate Sacking of SSG Teslim Igbalaiye
The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council has urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to dismiss Secretary to the State Government Teslim Igbalaiye following the arrest of a wanted suspect at his residence.
APC Accuses Administration of Obstructing Investigation
Speaking to journalists in Osogbo on Thursday, Remi Omowaiye, head of media and publicity for the APC campaign council, claimed the Adeleke administration is attempting to interfere with the police probe and secure the release of those detained.
Omowaiye warned that any effort to shield individuals accused of criminal conduct would undermine the rule of law and the state’s justice system. He insisted that a government genuinely committed to peace and security should not obstruct lawful investigations.
Government Response Defends SSG
Jamiu Olawumi, Director of Strategic Communication for the Imole Campaign Council, rejected the APC’s demand, describing the allegations as politically motivated attempts to tarnish Igbalaiye’s reputation.
According to Punch, Olawumi emphasized that governance is about service and responsibility, and that the governor knows the quality of his SSG, a lawyer and patriotic son of Osogbo.
Police Actions and Ongoing Investigation
Police operatives raided Igbalaiye’s residence in Osogbo on Wednesday, arresting him. He was released the following day while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the arrest continue.
