Osun APC Demands Immediate Sack of SSG Teslim Igbalaiye

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to remove Secretary to the State Government Teslim Igbalaiye after a wanted murder suspect was apprehended at the official’s residence.

Speaking to journalists in Osogbo on Thursday, the head of media and publicity for the APC Campaign Council, Remi Omowaiye, alleged that the Adeleke administration is attempting to interfere with the ongoing police investigation.

Omowaiye expressed concern that the governor is reportedly seeking the release of individuals detained during the raid on Igbalaiye’s home, warning that any effort to shield suspects would undermine the rule of law.

“No government that genuinely seeks peace and security should be seen attempting to obstruct lawful investigations or shield any individual from accountability.”

He urged Adeleke to rise above political pettiness, dismiss Igbalaiye immediately, and allow law enforcement agencies to complete their work without hindrance.

The APC spokesman also commended the Osun State Police Command and the Inspector‑General of Police Special Squad for their professionalism in handling the arrest.

Imole Campaign Council Rejects APC’s Allegations

In response, the Director of Strategic Communication for the Imole Campaign Council, Jamiu Olawumi, dismissed the APC’s call as politically motivated, describing the allegations as an attempt to tarnish the SSG’s reputation.

“Governance is about people, service and responsibility. As a governor, even when people propose an idea that does not make sense to the needs of the state, comments are free, but the facts remain sacred.”

Olawumi added that critics lack the stature and track record of Igbalaiye, a lawyer and patriotic son of Osogbo, and therefore cannot credibly question his integrity or service delivery.

Recall that police operatives raided Igbalaiye’s residence on Wednesday, arresting a wanted suspect. He was released the following day while investigations continue.
