A former Super Eagles star, Obafemi Martins, ignited online discussion after posting a provocative message aimed at Satan.
In his message, Obafemi stated: “More than 1 million churches, 4 billion followers, 200 faiths, have been battling a single Satan for over six millennia. Satan please die na.”
The comment sparked a range of responses, with netizens offering varied theological and personal viewpoints.
Lanrey remarked: “Why does humanity embody wickedness? Why do people commit evil? Who is Satan? What does he symbolize?”
Lanrey continued: “I genuinely believe that what ought to perish is Satan’s influence in human life, not Satan himself. Scripture affirms this in Revelation 20:1‑3: I saw an angel descending from heaven, holding the key to the abyss and a massive chain.”
“He seized the dragon—the ancient serpent, the Devil and Satan—and bound him for a thousand years;”
“He hurled him into the abyss, sealed him, and ensured he could no longer deceive nations until the thousand years conclude, after which he will be freed briefly.”
Ephraim replied: “If Satan were to perish, what would churches then pray against?”
Kerrently added: “I realize some may disagree, but I must speak: Satan is not the issue; God is.”
Kerrently concluded: “If you grasp God’s nature and actions, you’ll see Satan as merely a pawn manipulated by divine will. Debate this with your clergy, not with me.”
