A Nigerian woman has ignited online discussion after lamenting the apparent scarcity of men interested in pursuing committed relationships.
In a widely circulated clip on X (formerly Twitter), she wondered why many men appear reluctant to ask women out, noting that numerous single ladies remain trapped in perpetual talking phases that never evolve into serious relationships.
Speaking in Yoruba, she expressed:
“You men seem unwilling to marry again. Who are you planning to leave us for? I’m exhausted and bewildered. Single women like us are ready and waiting. Please, show us some interest.”
She admitted she had initially vowed to stay silent on the matter, but the growing heartbreak compelled her to speak out.
She explained that, since January, she has shifted from one talking stage to another without any of them developing into a genuine relationship.
“Since the year began, it feels like we’re stuck in an endless loop of talking stages, as if cursed. Nothing progresses past that point, and we hardly have boyfriends. Who are you intending to abandon us for? Begin to show interest before we resort to chasing you down the street,” she added.
Her candid remarks ignited an online debate, with many women echoing her sentiments, while others contended that dating priorities have shifted for both genders.
The footage continues to fuel discussions about contemporary dating challenges and why numerous singles feel that authentic love is harder to find nowadays.
