NDC Assures Candidates Will Appear on 2027 Ballot
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, has declared that all of the party’s candidates will be on the ballot for the 2027 general elections, even after a court ruling nullified the party’s registration.
Speaking on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” programme, Enekweizu said the party was ready to upload its candidates’ names to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal when the judgment was delivered.
He described the timing of the ruling as an attempt to halt the process, but insisted that the NDC would proceed with the upload and participate in the election.
“We will pick up our codes, upload the names of our candidates, and we will be on the ballot in 2027,” Enekweizu stated. “Our supporters, members, and candidates have nothing to fear.”
He added that widespread frustration with hunger, insecurity, and governmental failure has driven Nigerians to seek change, a change the NDC promises to deliver.
