A Nigerian individual reached out to a young graduate who faced widespread online ridicule after her graduation ceremony video went viral.
The graduate, identified as Kunmi, became the target of mockery on social platforms due to the wig she wore during the ceremony, after a TikTok user shared the footage.
In a post on X, the man explained that he located Kunmi’s profile and contacted her privately, asking for her bank details while telling her that many people wished to support and appreciate her.
After Kunmi sent her account number and thanked him, the man shared her story on X, prompting numerous well‑meaning Nigerians to contribute financial assistance to help her.
He urged internet users to choose compassion over ridicule, stressing that nobody should be mocked for their circumstances, regardless of gender.
