A woman has touched many social media users after describing her experience of homelessness and extreme poverty, while insisting she will never abandon her husband despite their dire situation.
She explained that she and her husband traveled a long distance to Abuja hoping for a better life, but they have been without shelter since January.
Now they sleep outdoors and often struggle to find enough food, yet she remains devoted to her husband because of the love and bond they share.
Family Rejects Her for Choosing Her Husband
Speaking with emotion, she said that several relatives turned against her after she refused to leave her husband for another man, even though they are facing financial hardship.
She declared, “I cannot leave my husband for any reason. Because of him, my entire family abandoned me. We have been living on the streets since January, sleeping outside, but I will never walk away from my husband. We barely get enough to eat, and people mock us as if we mean nothing.”
Holding Onto Faith Amid Struggle
She added that her grandmother expelled her from the family home after she resisted pressure to marry someone else.
She noted that her husband had been financially stable before she became pregnant, but their situation deteriorated over time.
She said, “He was not this poor when I became pregnant with his child, but regardless, I have chosen to stay with him. We have been praying, and I trust that God will provide for us.”
