A Nigerian tenant has explained why he and his fellow renters barred their strict landlord from entering the compound after hours.
Landlord Barred From Entry
Identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @TheMrBachelor, the tenant said the landlord enforces a 9:30 p.m. gate closure with no exceptions. However, the landlord and his family stayed out past that time during an outing. When he called to be let in, the tenants refused to open the gate, remarking that he could spend the night outside or go back where he came from.
Online Reactions
One commenter said the landlord should follow his own rules and experience the same treatment.
Another remarked that the gate is just a gate, but the lesson is lasting: how you treat people with authority shapes how they treat you when you lack it; build systems with grace or prepare to sleep in your car.
A third user joked that if he were the landlord he would wait a week before removing the roof, then later take out doors and windows.
A fourth observed that people copy not just rules but how those rules make them feel; the reaction reflects built‑up resentment finally finding an outlet.
