A Nigerian woman has expressed her frustration after allegedly being cut off by a man she met through a mutual acquaintance, following her own expense to visit him.
She explained that a friend shared her clip on WhatsApp status, prompting the man to show interest. She admitted she found him appealing and felt thrilled when their conversation began.
Speaking in Yoruba, she recounted:
“A friend of mine posted a video of me on her WhatsApp status, and a guy saw it and told her he liked me. She sent me his picture, and I liked him too because he was actually my crush.”
The lady explained that the man later invited her to his house but refused to send transport fare, claiming some women collect transport money and fail to show up.
She revealed that she paid her own fare and even bought jollof rice and chicken for him after he requested it. According to her, she spent the night at his place and expected him to refund her expenses as promised.
However, when it was time for her to leave, he allegedly claimed he had no money because a client was yet to pay him.
“As soon as I got home, this guy blocked me everywhere. Imagine if I decide to curse him now. After eating my jollof rice and chicken, and on top of that, sleeping with me, he still blocked me,” she lamented.
The story has sparked mixed reactions online, with many advising people to be cautious when meeting strangers and avoid spending money on people they barely know.
One user wrote, “Jollof rice and heartbreak combo😂The guy truly wicked.” Another added, “Some men just don’t have shame honestly.”
