A woman described an uncomfortable incident on a minibus where she allegedly had to settle her fare twice after another rider wrongly claimed she hadn’t paid.
She explained that she had already paid and taken her seat when the driver halted the vehicle a short while later to check who had not yet paid.
Before she could answer, a fellow traveler gestured toward her as the non‑payer. Even though she insisted she had already covered the cost, the driver and other passengers doubted her.
Passenger Eventually Confesses
She recalled, “I got on the bus, paid my fare, and sat down. Minutes later the driver stopped, turned, and asked, ‘Who hasn’t paid?’ Before I could reply, another rider pointed at me.” She said the accusation caught her off guard.
She added, “I protested, but no one believed me. I had to pay again just to avoid being left behind. The ironic twist? Roughly twenty minutes later, the accuser quietly admitted he was the one who hadn’t paid.” She noted that this admission came only after she had made the second payment.
Online Reaction to the Tale
The woman’s story sparked discussion on social platforms, with many expressing sympathy and recounting comparable experiences on public transit.
Observers noted that the episode underscores the need to verify accusations before jumping to conclusions.
