INEC Lagos Announces Public Display of 2027 Candidates’ Credentials
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State has announced that it will begin the public display of the personal particulars and credentials of candidates contesting the 2027 presidential, senatorial and House of Representatives elections.
The disclosure was made in a statement issued by Mrs Esther Emeh, Head of Voter Education and Publicity at INEC Lagos.
According to the statement, the display exercise is carried out in compliance with Section 29 of the Electoral Act 2022.
The documents will be available for inspection at the INEC Lagos State Office in Sabo‑Yaba and at the respective Local Government Area offices covering the affected constituencies.
The materials to be shown include the candidates’ credentials, personal particulars and the affidavits submitted by those sponsored by political parties, specifically Form EC9.
INEC urges registered political parties, nominated candidates, stakeholders and members of the public to examine the documents during the display period.
Anyone who believes that a candidate has submitted false information or forged documents may seek legal redress under the provisions of the Electoral Act.
The commission encourages all interested parties to take advantage of this opportunity to scrutinise the submitted documents and reaffirms its commitment to transparency, accountability and the delivery of free, fair and credible elections.
