INEC Awaits Certified Court Ruling on NDC Registration
A report indicates that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not yet received the certified true copy of the court ruling that nullified the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Judge Isah Dashen, presiding over suit FHC/LKJ/CS/49/2025, ruled that the December 10, 2025 judgment was issued without hearing all necessary parties, making the process constitutionally flawed.
The decision came after an application by the Peace Movement Party (PMP), which claimed it had a legal interest and should have been joined before judgment.
Dashen further stated that key facts were not disclosed in the earlier hearing and ordered that the substantive case be restarted, with INEC, the PMP, and the NDC all added as parties.
On Saturday, commission officials told The Cable that INEC is aware of the Friday judgment.
However, they said the commission has not yet obtained the certified true copy of the ruling and cannot comment on the matter until the document is reviewed.
