The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has fired back at critics who question his style of politics, insisting that political conduct follows its own set of rules distinct from religious duties.
He emphasized that being a Christian does not automatically make him a pastor, just as his father’s vocation does not define his own.
Wike drew an analogy with his profession as a lawyer, noting that his son’s career is not determined by his mother’s role as a judge.
He argued that those who criticize him are speaking theoretically, failing to grasp that politics and pastoral work operate under separate guidelines.
The remarks came amid allegations that Wike seeks to dominate power in Rivers State following his public dispute with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
