Guardiola Turns Down Italy National Team Offer
Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has declined an approach from the Italian Football Federation to become the head coach of Italy’s national side. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Guardiola reviewed the proposal this week and ultimately said no.
The Spanish tactician explained that he wishes to take a break from coaching to devote more time to his family before considering any future return to the dugout.
Guardiola’s tenure at Manchester City began in 2016 and lasted until 2026, during which he secured multiple Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League trophy. His leadership transformed City into one of Europe’s most dominant sides, collecting numerous domestic and international honours.
Klopp Appointed as Germany Head Coach
While Guardiola steps back, former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager Jürgen Klopp has returned to football management. He has been named the new head coach of the German national team, marking his first major role in international football.
Klopp left Liverpool after nearly nine years, having established himself as one of the club’s most successful managers. Prior to that, he enjoyed successful spells at Borussia Dortmund, where he won two Bundesliga titles and guided the team to the 2013 UEFA Champions League final.
Known for his energetic, attacking style, strong leadership, and talent for developing young players, Klopp is widely regarded as one of the most respected managers of his generation. At Liverpool, he delivered a Premier League title, a Champions League trophy, and several other honours.
