Funso Doherty Emerges as NDC Governorship Candidate for Lagos 2027
Popular politician Funso Doherty has been selected as the governorship candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Lagos State for the 2027 elections.
Doherty expressed his gratitude to the party leadership for deeming him worthy of the nomination and stated that the work to build a better Lagos has already begun.
“With profound humility, gratitude, and a clear sense of purpose, I accept our party’s nomination to serve as its candidate for Governor of Lagos State in 2027.”
“I am deeply grateful for the confidence our great party has placed in me and for our shared belief that Lagos deserves much better—inclusive leadership that works for everyone.”

His candidature was also affirmed by NDC spokesperson Theo Abu Agada.
