Frank Onyeka Secures Permanent Transfer to Coventry City from Brentford
Nigeria midfielder Frank Onyeka has made his loan move to Coventry City permanent after Brentford exercised the option to turn the temporary deal into a full‑time contract.
Onyeka arrived at the Sky Blues in January on loan, making 14 Championship appearances and scoring once as Coventry clinched promotion to the Premier League. He also brings top‑flight experience, having played 75 Premier League games for Brentford.
Speaking to Coventry City’s official website, Onyeka said he is thrilled to extend his stay and highlighted his two goals when he first joined: win the Championship and secure promotion. He expressed happiness at being a Coventry player back in the top flight and pledged to give his all for the team.
He added that his ambition now is to help Coventry remain in the Premier League and finish as high as possible. The permanent agreement takes effect on Wednesday, 1 July, marking the next step in his career.
