Keyamo Says 2027 Election Will Be a Coronation for Tinubu

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure a second term in the 2027 general election.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, Keyamo stated that Nigerians will vote overwhelmingly for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He dismissed the challenges posed by Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress and Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress as insignificant to the expected outcome.

Keyamo pointed to the APC’s success in the 2026 off‑season governorship elections as evidence that the party will repeat its victory in 2027.

“I cannot see where Peter Obi’s votes would come from,” he said. “Based on pure demographic calculation, the 2027 election is a coronation, not an election.”

In related news, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar urged President Tinubu to focus on fixing his administration’s shortcomings rather than engaging in political rhetoric ahead of the 2027 polls.

Atiku described Tinubu’s recent comment about “wrestling his opponents to the finish” as the lamentation of a drowning man and accused the president of diverting attention from what he called an abysmal record in office.
