FCT Minister Confirms Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda Delivering Water Projects in Abuja
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, declared that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is already producing visible benefits for residents of Abuja.
Speaking at a ceremony where Vice President Kashim Shettima represented the President, Wike highlighted several water‑supply initiatives that have been commissioned across the territory.
“Mr President, you will recall that during the second‑year anniversary and the commissioning of the Abuja Greater Water Supply, you urged us to shift focus from the city to the satellite towns. In the 2025 national budget you allocated funds for water supply to the Satellite Towns in AMAC, Karu and its neighbouring communities, as well as Bwari. Because you ensured the full and early release of those budgetary provisions, we have already commissioned the water project in Karu and its environs in less than a year.”

Wike added that the contract for the Karu project was awarded in August of the previous year and, by June, the work was fully completed — a timeline of under twelve months. He noted that a similar commissioning for the Bwari Area Council is scheduled for July 14.
He emphasized that the President’s vision extends beyond roads and general infrastructure; providing essential services such as clean water is equally vital for the wellbeing of satellite‑town residents.
“I am confident that the communities will be pleased and grateful that, to the glory of God, the Renewed Hope Agenda is working and its impact can be seen by all,” Wike concluded.
