Family Alleges Lack of Transparency in Alexx Ekubo’s Death
The family of Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has raised serious concerns about how his death and burial were handled, claiming they were not properly informed of the events surrounding his passing.

According to a statement released by David Ekubo, who spoke on behalf of the family, the actor was buried last week at his grandfather’s compound in Abia State after a service of songs on June 10 and a wake attended by friends, relatives and colleagues.
The family alleges that they were not informed that Alexx Ekubo passed away on May 11, and that the relative who collected his body from the mortuary was not allowed to view it.
Dispute Over Burial Attire and Calls for Clarity
David Ekubo also criticised the use of white clothing during the burial rites, describing it as resembling a “celebration of life” for a 40‑year‑old whose life ended abruptly. The family maintains they have yet to receive any explanation for the sudden and suspicious nature of the actor’s death.
Furthermore, the statement notes that Alexx Ekubo’s mother and his only biological sibling have not been formally briefed on the circumstances surrounding his demise, leaving the family seeking answers and accountability.
