Recent developments have sparked worry following claims that relatives of the late Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo were not promptly notified about his passing.
A statement posted online by a family member named Davidekubo indicated that the Ekubo relatives said many details leading up to the actor’s demise remain uncertain and unresolved.
The statement noted that the family learned of Ekubo’s death on May 11 only after the fact, without prior notification.
It also mentioned that the individual who collected the actor’s body from the mortuary was not allowed to see the deceased.
Family Raises Concerns Over Death Circumstances
According to the relatives, they did not consent to the choice of white attire used during what seemed to be a celebration‑of‑life event for the actor.
They described the death of the 40‑year‑old performer as abrupt and said they continue to seek explanations regarding the cause and manner of his passing.
“With deep sorrow, heaviness and grief; the family of Ikenna Alex Ekubo informs the public that the events preceding his death remain unclear,” the statement read.
“The Ekubo family has yet to obtain answers on how and why Alex died so suddenly.”
Mother and Sibling Await Formal Details
The statement further asserted that Alexx Ekubo’s biological mother and his sole biological sibling have not received an official briefing on the matter.
“@alexxekubo only biological sibling @omaalex3 and the living biological mother have not been formally updated regarding the puzzling and questionable passing of Alex,” the family member wrote.
