Dickson Iroegbu Warns Against Sideline NDC in 2027
Human rights activist Dickson Iroegbu has declared that anyone who believes they can push the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) aside before the 2027 general election is essentially calling for anarchy.
He argued that the rising apprehension surrounding NDC presidential hopeful Peter Obi presents a significant challenge for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu.
Iroegbu added that while Tinubu may have succeeded in seizing and exercising power in 2023, he will not be able to repeat that feat in 2027.
He stated, “There will be revolution and anarchy in the land if anybody thinks he can stop the NDC from being on the ballot. Anyone who thinks he can push the NDC aside is calling for anarchy.”
Continuing his critique, Iroegbu said, “Tinubu is overrated. He may have succeeded in grabbing and running with power in 2023. But in 2027, he will be shocked that we will hold him down and ensure the result is counted. If Nigerians do not end the APC, then APC may end Nigeria.”
Court Decision Overturns NDC Registration Directive
His remarks come after a Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, set aside its earlier judgment that had directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC as a political party.
