Davido Says He Won’t Encourage His Children to Pursue Music Careers
Nigerian superstar Davido shared his thoughts on his children’s future careers during a recent episode of The Vibe podcast, stating he hopes none of them choose music.
He mentioned his second daughter, Hailey Veronica Adeleke, already shows interest in music and has a good voice, but he remains hesitant to support her due to his own experiences.
Davido explained that knowing the challenges he faced makes him skeptical about pushing his kids into the industry, even though he acknowledges his family’s support allowed him to follow his dreams.
He added that while he wouldn’t block his children from chasing their passions, he would only encourage them if they are truly talented and committed.
Davido also highlighted his unique position as the only billionaire’s child who has built a successful music career and amassed wealth, noting that African audiences often favor “grass‑to‑grace” narratives.
He challenged listeners to name another billionaire’s offspring who has achieved similar fame and financial success, asserting that none exist besides himself.
