Davido’s Stance on His Kids’ Music Aspirations

Nigerian music star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, said he hopes none of his children will choose a career in music.

He made the comment during a recent episode of The Vibe podcast, explaining that his own experiences in the industry make him wary of steering his offspring toward the same path.

Hailey Veronica Adeleke’s Growing Interest

The father of six noted that his second daughter, Hailey Veronica Adeleke, already shows a strong inclination toward music and possesses a good voice.

He described her as “the life of the party” and said she behaves much like he does, but despite her talent, he remains doubtful about encouraging her pursuit.

Personal Struggles Shape His View

Davido explained that knowing the challenges he faced—especially coming from a wealthy background in an industry that favors “grass to grace” stories—makes him skeptical about pushing his children into music.

“I know what I went through. Can you go through what I go through?” he asked, emphasizing that his own journey informs his cautious stance.

Balancing Support With Caution

Despite his reservations, Davido stressed that he would never outright block his children from following their dreams, noting that his own family eventually allowed him to chase his aspirations.

He added, “If they are good, why not?” indicating a willingness to support them if they prove capable and passionate.

Davido’s Unique Position as a Billionaire Heir

The artist also claimed he is the only billionaire’s child worldwide who has built a successful name and fortune for himself in music.

He challenged listeners to name another billionaire’s offspring who has achieved similar fame and wealth, asserting that none exist besides him.
