Davido Prefers a Regular Life Over Luxury
Nigerian afrobeats star Davido recently shared that he often chooses to live like an ordinary person, despite his fame and wealth.
The singer said he feels no excitement from luxury because he has experienced private jets, expensive trips, and money from a very young age. “I’ve been on jets, I’ve been flying, I’ve been in all these places since I was a baby. I’ve been seeing money since I was a baby. So all these things don’t really excite me,” he explained.
Davido added that he likes to dress casually — slipping on slippers, shorts, and even leaving his watch at home — because he still feels comfortable and confident in simple attire.
Although his team encourages him to adopt a more polished “celebrity personality” for public appearances, Davido insists he prefers to be himself.
“Bro, I’m hungry. Why does it have to be a moment? I’m hungry. I want to eat. There’s nothing about moments here. I sometimes just want to live like a regular person,” he said, noting that even though he owns luxury cars in Atlanta, he occasionally chooses to drive a modest Toyota.
His candid remarks highlight a desire to stay grounded despite his superstar status.
