Davido Declares Himself the Only Self‑Made Billionaire’s Heir Worldwide
Afrobeat superstar Davido, son of Nigerian billionaire Deji Adeleke, insists he is the only billionaire’s child worldwide who has built a name and fortune for himself.
He explained that his wealthy background initially worked against him in the music industry because African audiences tend to favor “grass‑to‑grace” stories.
Despite the skepticism, Davido forged his own legacy, claiming that no other billionaire heir in Africa or the rest of the world has achieved what he has.
He added, “Not to brag, but which other billionaire’s child, anywhere in the world, has made a name for himself and earned significant money? You can’t name one except me.”
Davido also recalled a terrifying incident from the early days of his fame, saying it occurred just two months after his breakout songs began dominating the airwaves.
At that point he had released only a few tracks, yet they brought him widespread recognition and a performance booking in Ghana.
The experience left him questioning whether the price of fame was worth the exposure.
