Davido Claims He’s the Only Self‑Made Billionaire’s Child in the World
Afrobeat star Davido, son of Nigerian billionaire Deji Adeleke, insists he is the only billionaire’s child worldwide who has created a name and earned money entirely on his own.
He explains that his privileged background posed challenges in the music industry, where audiences tend to favor “grass‑to‑grace” stories over those born into wealth.
Despite these obstacles, Davido says he built his own legacy, positioning himself as the sole billionaire heir not just in Africa but across the globe.
He rhetorically asks, “Which other billionaire’s child, in Africa or elsewhere, has achieved both fame and substantial wealth?” and answers, “You can’t name one except me.”
Davido also recalls a terrifying incident early in his career that almost made him question whether fame was worth the exposure.
The ordeal occurred barely two months after his breakthrough tracks began dominating airwaves, even though he had released only a few songs at the time.
Their rapid success earned him widespread recognition and a performance booking in Ghana.
