Davido Chooses Simplicity Over Celebrity Glamour
Nigerian afrobeats superstar Davido shared that he often prefers to dress and live like an ordinary person, despite his fame and fortune.
Speaking about his privileged upbringing, Davido said he has been exposed to private jets, luxury travel and wealth from a very young age, which makes extravagant experiences feel ordinary to him.
“I’ve been on jets, I’ve been flying, I’ve been in all these places since I was a baby. I’ve been seeing money since I was a baby. So all these things don’t really excite me,” he explained, adding that he feels comfortable in slippers, shorts and even without his watch.
Although his team encourages him to adopt a more polished celebrity image for public appearances, Davido insists he would rather grab a bite to eat or drive a modest Toyota than treat every outing as a special event.
He concluded that living like a regular person lets him stay grounded and enjoy everyday moments without the pressure of constant glamour.
