Chelsea Places 11 First-Team Players on Transfer List After £300m Summer Spend
Chelsea have reportedly placed 11 first-team players on the transfer list as the club pushes forward with a major squad overhaul following a summer spending spree exceeding £300 million ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
The Blues aim to streamline their roster after splashing cash on new signings such as Morgan Rogers, Maxence Lacroix, Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda, Valentin Barco, Danny Welbeck and Emmanuel Emegha, as head coach Xabi Alonso reshapes the squad.
According to The Athletic, the players made available for transfer include Enzo Fernández, Pedro Neto, Malo Gusto, Benoît Badiashile, Axel Disasi, Trevoh Chalobah, Marc Guiu, David Datro Fofana, Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson.
Chelsea have already taken steps to reduce the squad, with Trevoh Chalobah reportedly agreeing to a £31 million move to Serie A newcomers Como, while Pedro Neto has been linked with a possible reunion with former coach Enzo Maresca at Manchester City.
The West London side are expected to sanction further departures before the transfer window closes as they continue to balance the squad after another active summer in the market.
Away from transfers, Chelsea’s pre‑season form has been mixed. They opened with a 6‑4 win over Western Sydney Wanderers, showcasing an attacking flair but also revealing defensive frailties after conceding four goals.
A 2‑1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in Sydney followed, with Alonso rotating his lineup to assess options, yet the Blues could not avoid defeat.
The tour became tougher in Hong Kong, where Juventus narrowly edged Chelsea 1‑0 despite the London side creating chances, leaving them with two consecutive losses.
After three pre‑season fixtures, Chelsea have scored seven goals and conceded seven, highlighting their offensive potential while underlining the work needed at the back.
The Blues will look to finish preparations on a stronger note when they face AC Milan on Saturday, Johor Darul Ta’zim on Sunday and Real Sociedad on August 15 before the Premier League season kicks off.
