Charles Okocha Wins After Portable Abandons Chaos In The Ring Bout
Charles Okocha was declared the winner of the 2026 Chaos In The Ring main event after celebrity boxer and singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, left the ring during the opening round at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The bout started with a fast pace, but soon turned chaotic when Portable grabbed Okocha and attempted to wrestle him to the canvas instead of continuing to exchange punches.
The referee stepped in, and bouncers entered the ring to separate the two after they ended up on the floor. Once they were pulled apart, Portable walked out of the fighting area.
He later returned to the arena and claimed victory, arguing that taking Okocha to the ground constituted a win. Officials rejected the claim, ruling that Portable had abandoned the match and awarded the victory to Okocha.
Despite the decision, Portable re‑entered the ring in protest, but the result had already been confirmed.
The fight had been promoted as one of the headline attractions of the 2026 Chaos In The Ring event, which also featured several professional bouts involving Nigerian and international fighters.
After being declared the winner, Okocha said he intends to stay active in celebrity boxing and is ready for new challenges, including a potential match against Carter Efe, who previously defeated Portable by unanimous decision on 1 May 2026.
