Buba Galadima Accused of Sabotaging Kwankwaso’s Career
The Director-General of Media and Communications for Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, has pointed a finger at veteran politician Buba Galadima for what he describes as the “near failure” of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s political trajectory.
Bature labelled Galadima a political opportunist who, according to him, has never contributed meaningfully to the growth of any political movement.
He argued that Galadima’s relevance stems from constantly shifting allegiance between presidential candidates rather than building a sustainable political base.
“Today, because of Buba Galadima, Kwankwaso has fallen into a ditch that has turned his political career into a near‑total failure, forcing him to jump from one party to another,” Bature stated.
Lessons from Buhari’s Experience
Bature also revisited the political journey of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, asserting that Buhari’s fortunes improved only after he distanced himself from Galadima and aligned with Bola Tinubu.
He suggested that Buhari’s earlier unsuccessful presidential bids were partly influenced by associates like Galadima, and that the eventual victory came after cutting those ties.
“I can bet you that, once Buhari recognised his critical political mistakes, discarded Galadima and his ilk, and joined forces with Bola Tinubu, that strategy delivered him victory,” Bature added.
The spokesman further claimed that despite years in national politics, Galadima lacks real influence and has failed to make any notable impact even in his hometown of Bade, remaining essentially an Abuja‑based patron.
He concluded by dismissing Galadima as “nothing but a political wanderer” who has never left a lasting mark on Nigerian politics.
