Media figure Bolanle Olukanni recounted a personal story that reinforced her belief that God can point out the ideal life partner.
In a recent interview, she explained that she ended a romance after experiencing a dream she viewed as a heavenly warning.
She later noted that the gentleman embraced Islam roughly twelve months after their separation.
A Dream That Shifted Everything
Olukanni noted that the suitor exhibited many of the traits she sought in a partner.
She portrayed him as a devoted Christian, prayerful, kind, considerate, and sincerely interested in pursuing a relationship with her.
Nevertheless, despite his admirable qualities, she confessed to feeling an unexplainable reluctance to deepen the relationship.
“I sincerely and truly believe that God reveals who you will marry.”
She acknowledged that, while she had prayed about the romance, she had not been as deliberate as she ought to have been.
The Vision and Its Aftermath
Olukanni recalled a vivid dream where she and the man stood together at the altar on their wedding day; she felt joy, yet observed him clutching Muslim prayer beads.
She explained that uniting with someone of a different faith was not her preference, as she desired a Christian spouse who shared her convictions.
“Upon waking, I instantly realized this relationship had no future.”
She said the vision puzzled her, given that at the time the man was actively engaged in Christian practices—attending services, praying, fasting, and speaking in tongues.
She subsequently disclosed that, roughly a year afterward, the man embraced Islam.
“Explain to me how he turned Muslim later—a year after our split—I’m not joking.”
Divine Guidance in Choosing a Spouse
Despite his shift in faith, Olukanni affirmed they remain friends and she still regards him as an remarkable individual.
She stated that the episode convinced her that God can disclose future facets of a person before they become evident.
While recognizing that relationships sometimes fail despite perceived divine direction, she urged believers to seek God’s counsel before selecting a life partner.
“When we ask God, ‘Who is my wife?’ or ‘Who is my husband?’ He will answer.”
