Benue State Commissioner for Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Odoh Ugwu, has accused Senator Abba Moro of exploiting the tragedy of citizens killed by armed herders for political gain.
Commissioner Calls Out Moro’s Blame-Shifting Tactics
Ugwu stated that Moro has repeatedly dragged Governor Hyacinth Alia’s name into political discussions as a strategy to remain relevant, despite what many view as poor performance in the Red Chamber. He emphasized that Benue South deserves a senator who unites rather than divides, one who provides effective representation and works to solve the people’s problems.
Moro’s Media Appearances Criticized
The commissioner expressed disappointment at Moro’s recent media outing, describing it as a “reckless torrent of falsehoods, distortions, and desperate political propaganda” aimed at tarnishing the governor’s reputation. He noted that, instead of supporting Alia’s efforts to combat insecurity, Moro chose to “dance on the graves of those killed by these senseless marauders” for cheap political relevance.

Ugwu challenged Moro to move beyond television appearances and press interviews, asking what tangible interventions he has made to improve security, attract development, empower youth, or alleviate hardship in Benue South. He urged the senator to present his scorecard instead of manufacturing controversies.
Governor Alia’s Record Defended
The commissioner highlighted Governor Hyacinth Alia’s inclusive administration, which has entrusted Benue South with strategic ministries such as Finance, Education, Health, Women Affairs, Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change, and Information. He asserted that no amount of political blackmail or misinformation can erase the visible achievements of the Alia administration, adding that the people of Benue South are politically conscious and cannot be misled by recycled propaganda.
