Atiku Calls Tinubu’s 10 Million APC Vote Claim a Lie
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed reports that President Bola Tinubu secured more than 10 million votes in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary held over the weekend.
Party officials stated that Tinubu received a total of 10,999,160 votes to clinch his re‑election ticket. However, speaking to journalists at his Ajiya ward in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State after casting his ballot in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Primary, Atiku labelled the figures as mere fabrications.
“It is a lie. The figures were merely written,” Atiku said when asked whether he felt demoralised by Tinubu’s alleged vote tally.
He urged Nigerians to treat the 2027 general election as an opportunity to vote out the ruling party, accusing Tinubu of maladministration and indifference toward the suffering of the electorate.
On the ADC primaries, Atiku noted the encouraging turnout, especially among youths, saying, “Whenever young people embrace something, it shows that it is worthwhile and beneficial to them and their families.”
When questioned about his confidence of winning the general election should he emerge as the ADC candidate amid the party’s internal crisis, he replied, “We are confident. We do not see any challenge that will stop us from achieving what we set out to do.”
His final message to Nigerians was clear: vote for the ADC, as any other party would only exacerbate their hardship.
