Atiku Calls for Unity After ADC Primary Victory
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reached out to former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi and banker Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, urging them to join his team as he prepares for the 2027 general elections.
The appeal follows complaints from Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen, who had questioned the fairness of the ADC presidential primary, citing voting irregularities.
Atiku emphasized that there are no winners or losers in the contest, calling for unity among all party members. He urged everyone who participated in the primaries to set aside differences and focus on building a stronger front ahead of the elections.
Specifically, he invited Chief Rotimi Amaechi and Alhaji Mohamed Hayatu-Deen to join him in the effort to reshape the nation and strengthen the party.
“We have a sacred responsibility to build a party that will stand as a great institution not only in Nigeria but as a model across the world,” Atiku said. “I therefore appeal to all those who feel aggrieved to return to our party and close ranks with the rest of us.”
He added, “I appeal to all who contested for various positions in our primaries to unite with us. In particular, I invite Chief Rotimi Amaechi and Alhaji Mohamed Hayatu-Deen to join me in this fight to save our democracy and our country. As I said before, there are no winners and no losers.”
“Our people look to us for leadership. I am ready to lead. I will work with you all to continue building our party, campaign alongside you, and, if Nigerians give us the mandate, govern with you to create a country that works for everyone.”
