Arsenal Agree £75m Deal for Bruno Guimarães
Arsenal have agreed a £75 million fee with Newcastle United to sign the club’s captain, Bruno Guimarães.
The 28‑year‑old Brazilian midfielder has been given permission to travel for a medical, bringing the transfer a step closer to completion.
Guimarães joined Newcastle from Lyon in January 2022 and quickly became a pivotal figure, eventually taking over the captaincy and helping the Magpies return to European competition.
Mikel Arteta views Guimarães as an ideal addition to strengthen Arsenal’s midfield ahead of another title challenge, praising his ability to dictate play, win back possession and contribute in the final third.
For Newcastle, the deal represents a substantial financial return on one of the key players behind their recent progress.
The transfer is expected to be finalised once Guimarães passes his medical and agrees personal terms with Arsenal.
