APC Chieftain Warns 31 Governors Could Become a Time Bomb
A senior figure in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Cletus Obun, has raised alarms that the party’s 31s into a political time bomb if current issues are not resolved.
Concerns Over the Revised National Assembly Candidate List
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Obun reacted to the newly released list of National Assembly candidates, saying it could push the APC back into the difficulties it faced in previous election cycles.
He stressed that the party cannot afford to repeat past errors, warning that the governors could become a liability for the APC unless the matter is addressed promptly.
Obun urged the leadership to exercise due diligence, ensuring that only candidates who genuinely participated in and won the party primaries are presented for the general elections.
“Revised National Assembly list could return the APC to its past troubles.
If any APC member seeks to sabotage the party through subterfuge by importing candidates, that individual will be treated as a saboteur.
What INEC is doing with the APC right now is sanitising the process. There is growing anger between the APC’s foundational members and new entrants.
We are taking past errors for granted simply because the party has 31 governors. Those governors could become a time bomb for the party if this issue is not addressed.”
