APC Chairman Meets PDP Deputy Women Leader to Discuss National Unity
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, announced a cordial meeting with Mrs. Hamsatu Adamu, Deputy National Women Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction loyal to Kabiru Turaki.
In a statement on his X account, Yilwatda said the discussion centred on national unity and the future of Nigeria, stressing that peace, stability and progress must remain a shared priority despite political differences.
He added that he intends to hold similar talks with other opposition leaders to foster a stronger, more united and prosperous Nigeria.
Meanwhile, a faction of the PDP announced it had submitted the name of former President Goodluck Jonathan to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, said INEC acknowledged receipt of the documents, although the group claims it was denied access to electronic submission codes.
Ememobong maintained that this faction represents the authentic PDP leadership, citing a Supreme Court judgment that left the party without a legally recognised national authority, prompting the formation of an interim leadership structure.
