ADC Main Target of Presidency Plot, NDC Only a Decoy – Timi Frank
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has raised a fresh alarm, alleging that the Presidency, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and certain judicial elements are collaborating to erase the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from the 2027 election ballot.
According to Frank, credible information has reached him showing that the ADC is the principal target of a coordinated scheme designed to weaken the opposition and pave the way for a one‑party state.
He warned that any attempt to bar the ADC and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, from contesting in 2027 would constitute an assault on democracy capable of plunging Nigeria into chaos and anarchy.
Frank asserted that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is merely being used as a decoy while the real goal is to ensure that neither the ADC nor Atiku Abubakar appear on the ballot.
The former APC spokesman said the tip came from a senior source within the Presidency who expressed concern over the damage such a move could inflict on Nigeria’s democratic image.
He urged Nigerians to stay vigilant, monitor the unfolding pattern, and called on the international community — especially the United States government — to intervene and prevent an impending democratic crisis.
Frank also appealed to INEC and the judiciary not to become accomplices in the alleged anti‑democratic plot, warning that Nigerians, the global community and posterity would hold them accountable.
He concluded by calling on citizens, political leaders, civil society organisations and all democratic stakeholders to rise in defence of the nation’s democracy.
